Doner Kebab

Barely a recipe but definitely worth a share. This is a seasoning I bought to try and it really is very good. Not exactly like the real thing but 100% less heart attack.



All you need is 2 ingredients!



Method


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180˚C/gas mark 5

  2. Place the minced lamb in a bowl, sprinkle over half a pot of JD's Doner Kebab seasoning and mix well with your hands

  3. Add the rest of the pot and continue to mix.

  4. Place the mixture onto a chopping board and knead making sure it's a smooth texture then roll into a loaf shape.

  5. Grease a baking tray with oil, place the Doner Kebab mixture on the tray and cook in the centre of the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes turning once after 40 minutes

  6. Remove from the oven, check that the Doner meat is cooked through, leave to rest for 5 - 10 minutes.

  7. Slice thinly and serve with pitta bread and salad.


I think next time I'd cook it for a shorter time as our oven seems to be quite hot but overall it was delightful. I served with cheesey chips for authenticity :)
