Italian Chicken Sausage Pasta

I don't normally buy chicken sausage but they came free with an order and I wasn't sure what to do with them, the idea of normal sausage usage didn't sit well! Much like anything though, they're better with pasta.


Ingredients

 

  • 350g pasta

  • 6 chicken sausages, chopped

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 3 cups passata/marinara sauce 

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • ¼ cup double cream

  • 2 cups frozen peas

  • 1 tsp crushed chilli 

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ cup parmesan

 

Method

 

  1. Cook pasta as per instructions.

  2. Add the olive oil to a large pan and cook the chicken sausage.

  3. Add the butter and garlic and sauté for 1 min.

  4. Reduce heat and add the marinara sauce, milk, cream, peas, red pepper flakes and salt and pepper and stir to combine.

  5. Bring mixture to a low simmer for 2-3 mins until the peas are cooked.

  6. Remove from heat, then add parmesan cheese.

  7. Add the cooked pasta and stir to combine.
