Toad in the Hole

Pimp up your Yorkshire with a sausage or two! I like mine with creamy mash, onion gravy and maybe something green.



Ingredients


  • Sausages

  • Goose fat or beef dripping (or vegetable oil if you must)

  • 115g plain flour

  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • 150ml milk

  • Pinch salt and pepper

Method


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.

  2. Add the flour, eggs, milk, salt and pepper to a blender and mix.

  3. Stand for 30 minutes

  4. Preheat the oil in a baking dish.

  5. Bake the sausages for 20 mins.

  6. Open the oven and pour the batter in quickly.

  7. Cook for another 20-25 mins.
